Comedian-turned-hero Sunil's next film Poolarangadu, directed by Veerabadhram Chowdhary of Aha Naa Pellanta fame and produced by K. Atchi Reddy under the banner of RR Movie Makers, will be launched on August 18 in Hyderabad. The regular shooting will begin very shortly.
Isha Chawla of Prema Kaavali fame is the heroine. Anup scores the music. Notably, Poolarangadu is the title of Akkineni's 1967 super hit film. In the 1990s, Rajendra Prasad also acted in a film with the same title.

Love story with action backdrop in Puri-NTR combo
Here comes the latest news. Puri Jagannath is eager to give a commercial hit to Young Tiger NT Rama Rao as he gave a flop like 'Andhrawala' with him. Now, the director is planning to do a love subject with action backdrop with NTR. As per the latest buzz, Bandla Ganesh had agreed to do a film in the combination of NTR and Puri Jagannath on the banner of Parameswara Arts.
After watching NTR's characterisation in 'Bridnavanam', the director thought of doing a love subject to keep his position more cushioned for lover boy characters with this movie. The film would go to sets in April next year.
NTR says, 'The film would be a sensational film in our combination and it would be a prestigious film for me (NTR), Puri Jagannath and producer Ganeshbabu. Puri Jagannath had accepted to provide story, screenplay, dialogues besides directing the film. (more...)
Oosaravelli not for Dussera?
Till a month ago, NTR was busy shooting for two films simultaneously - completing one schedule of Oosaravelli and then moving on to Boyapati`s Srinu`s film.
But he has completely stopped the shoot of Boyapati's movie to focus on Surender Reddy directed Oosaravelli. As he realized that this juggling act is not doing any good, he gave priority to Oosaravelli and the film is currently being shot in Bangkok.
Yet, Oosaravelli will not be be released for Dussera. So, the movie now is planned for a December release. Boyapati Srinu's movie will hit the screens in the summer of 2012. (more...)
Parachuri Brothers’ stats: 3-33-333
Parachuri Brothers, one of the most successful writers duo in Telugu film industry, have achieved a rare feat - writing for 333 films in 33 years. “We have written for three generation of stars and directors and have completed 33 years in the industry and 333 films,” Parachuri Venkateshwara Rao and Parachuri Gopalakrishna, better known as Parachuri Brothers, said.
They started their career with the film - Chalicheemalu but their real break came with Late NTR's film Chandasashanudu and they went on to write for many blockbusters for all the stars - Krishna (Eeenadu, Mundadgu, Agniparvatham, etc), Chiranjeevi (Khaidi, Adavidonga, Gharanamogudu, Indra, Tagore, etc), Venkatesh (Bobbiliraja, Preminchukundaam Raa, etc), Nagarjuna (Mass, etc), Balakrishna (Narasinha Naidu, Lorry Driver, etc), Mahesh Babu (Okkadu), NTR Jr (Aadi). And now they are penning for Ram Charan (Rachcha).
Although they started writing left-oriented scripts and dialogues in the initial stage of career, they later went on to become most successful writers for mass masala entertainers.

Multitasker Suhasini's golden jubilee!
One of Indian's most versatile actresses, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, born on August 15, 1961, turns 50 today. We at Galatta.com wish her many happy returns for her real-life golden jubilee and hope she continues to entertain us for the years to come!
Interestingly, Suhasini Mani Ratnam is the only Indian actress who started her career behind the camera. Suhasini, a trained costume designer, hair stylist and cinematographer, is the first female student to graduate from the Madras Film Institute. In 1988, she married Mani Ratnam and the couple have a son, Nandhan. She made her on screen debut in 1980 with the Tamil film Nenjathai Killathe. Incidentally, Suhasini is Kamal Haasan's niece (daughter of Charu Haasan, Kamal's elder brother).
Suhasini has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu films. She won the National Film Award for best actress for her role in the Tamil film Sindhu Bhairavi (1985), directed by K. Balachander. In 1996, Suhasini stepped into direction with Indira.

Sunil as hero, yet again
Looks like after Maryada Ramanna, there is no looking back for Sunil. The actor's first 'heroic' outing received good response from everyone. It is only in the fitness of the things that he has been approached by someone again. This time, it is the turn of producer Atchi Reddy to given Sunil another break as the main lead.
To be presented by RR Movie Makers (Kick, Don Seenu, Mirapakai), the film will be directed by Veerabhadram of Aha Na Pellanta fame. Isha Chawla of Prema Kavali will play the female lead.
Atchi Reddy has said that a strong story is in their hand for Sunil. The movie will be formally launched on the 18th. (more...)
Allu Arjun left for Australia for surgery
Allu Arjun hurt during the shoot of Arya 2 in the shoulders and he took immediate treatment for the injury then but the problem is still haunting him. During the shoot of Badrinath, while doing the complicated steps for the floor song, the pain in the shoulder resurfaced, so the doctors suggested that surgery is the only option. So he left for Perth in Australia on Sunday night (August 14, 2011) and will be staying for more than a month and take rest after the surgery there. The hospital in the Perth is famous for this kind of surgeries, sources told us.
So, Allu Arjun’s film in the direction of Trivikram will go to the floors towards Sept end. (more...)
Ramcharan to tie nuptial knot soon
After the Praja Rajyam president and megastar Chiranjevi's family visited the house of healthcare tycoon Prathap C Reddy in Hyderabad, the buzz is that Ramcharan and Upasana Kamineni's (granddaughter of Prathap C Reddy) wedding is on the cards.
Interestingly, a close family source of the megastar confirmed the rumours immediately.
Upasana is the vice president of Apollo Philanthropy and the editor of B-positive magazine.
The source said that both the families discussed the nuptials, which is expected to tame place by the end of the year.
It is said that Ram Charan wanted to wait for two years, but his father insisted it was the right time for him son to marry.
Soon after Allu Arjun's marriages to Sneha Reddy, rumours were rife that Chiranjeevi would finally agree to Ramcharan marrying his childhood friend Upasana. Both were said to have developed a friendship that later turned into love when they were studying together in Chennai. (more...)
