'Shankar', introducing Madhu as director, with Shashikanth and Manasa in the lead and produced by Chadalavada Padmavathy on the banner of Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Films is ready to hit the screen on December 8.
Producer says, 'Shashikanth who had already gained some image as hero among the audiences, would gain further name through our film. 'Shankar' would remain a milestone in the career of Shashikanth.
The director moulded the film with good mass elements. Though it is his debut film, he made it like an experienced director. Tunes given by Vandemataram Srinivas would be another highlight. The risky fights done by Shashikanth himself would attract the audiences.
The film has not only mass elements but have several other ingredients that could attract the youth and women audiences.'

'Rakhee' audio on December 7th
The audio of 'Rakhee' directed by creative director Krishnavamsi with Young Tiger NTR and Ileana in the lead would be released on December 7th. Rakhi is on sister-sentiments on the lines of Mahesh Babu’s Arjun and Pawan Kalyan’s current flick, Annavaram.
The shooting of the film is nearing completion. Post-production works are also in progress simultaneously at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad.Top production company Durga Arts that produced super hits like Ram Gopal Varma’s Kshana Kshanam and Nagarjuna starrer Hello Brother produces it.
Krishnavamsi is known for projecting heroines aesthetically yet in a glamorous manner. In Rakhi, she sizzles with hero NTR. The duo is paired up for the first time. Krishnavamsi’s regular heroine Charmi also plays another role.
Versatile artiste Kota Srinivasa Rao is playing a special role in this film. A popular TV anchor, Manjusha, is playing the sister of NTR in this film, while Charmi is playing the second heroine. Young Tarang Devisri Prasad has given tunes for all the songs in this film.
The producers are making efforts to release the film on December 22.
Gopichand in Telugu free make of 'Lakshya'
After the failure of 'Raraju', Gopichand is showing alertness and keenness in listening to stories. Recently, as per sources he Okayed a subject and the tidbits of that news are being told by inside sources.
Gopi Chand's next movie which is being produced by Nallamalupu Bujji and directed by Srivas is being gossiped as a free make of Hindi movie 'Lakshya'. The only difference between these two is that there will be no Kargil war in it but deals with a local problem.
It is known for all that Hrithik Roshan played lead role in the film where Priety Zinta has prominent role to play as female lead.

Uday Kiran in more gossips than heroines!
Sooner or later, Uday Kiran will earn the distinction of getting featured in more number of gossips than heroines themselves! For a long while, Tollywood decided to simply ignore Uday Kiran. Against injustice 'Aa Ratri'
Maharshi Raghav, Anamika and B S Raju in the lead on Manas Cine Chitra is making this film 'Aa Ratri' directed by B S Raj. This is a shortened cinema for forty minutes giving insight into the fight against injustice and the result of this fight is the main base of this film.

'Brahma' slated for December release
Directed by Cherukuri Sambasiva Rao and produced by Paidala Srinivas on the banner of Bittu Productions with Kiranteja, Madhusharma and Vandana in the lead, 'Brahma' is all set for release on December 7.
Producer Paidala Srinivas says, 'DTS mixing is in progress now. Though a novice, Kiran Teja performed excellently in action scenes and in sentiment scenes.'
Director Cherukuri Sambasiva Rao says, 'The producers had made the film without compromising at any point of time. The film had many elements that could attract the youth. I am sure that the film would earn me good name and fame'.
Kiran Teja says, 'Though it is my debut film, I was able to perform well with the active cooperation from all the unit members.'

Khatarnak on screens on Dec 14th

There is a good response for the audio which was released recently and raised our expectations on the success of our film. It will be yet another sensational hit film on our banner. Bollywood stars, Malaysian ministers to play football
Bollywood stars like Akshay Khanna, Akshay Kumar and Arjun Rampal are set to challenge Malaysia's cabinet ministers in a football match here Dec 8. The Celebrity Soccer Match is a part of the Global Indian Film Awards (GIFA) starting Dec 7.
Other Bollywood celebrities who will take part in the match are Sohail Khan (captain), Bobby Deol, Arbaaz Khan, Chunky Pandey, Sanjay Kapoor, Kamal Haasan, Zayed Khan, Govinda, Dino Morea, Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapur.
Apart from the match, Ravi Chopra's "Baabul" will be premiered at the GIFA 2006 and its main cast -- Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and John Abraham -- are expected to attend the show.
The three-day event is jointly organised by One Big Option, Popcorn Entertainment and Tourism Malaysia.
"The awards night will feature Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Abishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Amisha Patel and many more. It will be hosted by Arshad Warsi and Amrita Arora," said Harjeet Singh of One Big Option.

From the very beginning, i.e., even before its release, the film had to compete with 'Pokiri'. There was lot of pressure to come up with a film that was even better than the previous one. The film has a good message and even a good story. But it faltered badly when it came to narration.
Trisha, the heroine, was fresh from the super-success of 'Stalin'. She too was hoping that the film would be her second consecutive hit. Yet again, she plays the role of a village belle. The audience had seen her play that role so many times before that there is hardly anything new about it.
The film has only two saving graces- Harris Jayaraj's music (though many claim that the songs sound very much like some of the other popular hits) and Mahesh Babu's excellent screen presence.

'Satyam Sivam Sundaram' releasing on Dec 8th
Directed by Siddique and produced by B.Srinivasa Raju under the banner of Sri Sri Chitra Creations, with Nithin and Meera Chopra in the lead, 'Satyam Sivam Sundaram' is all set to hit the screens on December 8th. Now the film's Post-production work is in progress. Manisharma gave melodious tunes to five songs and the audio is getting a very good response. Camera is by Jayaram, while story, screenplay are by Siddique.
Producer Srinivasa Raju says, "I have a special affection towards Siddique, who earned a special place in Malayalam film industry. Several of his films in Malayalam were either dubbed or remade in other languages.Though several producers tried to convince him to work in Telugu, we were able to rope him in to make his debut. In this film, our hero attacks his enemies with his will and mental power. It is altogether a mind game. This two and a half hour film has both entertainment and some suspense."
Nithin says, "I am sure that this film would earn me good name as hero." Debutant heroine Meera Chopra says, "My character has good scope for both glamour and performance. I hope this would be a good beginning for me."
Bhanupriya plays important role in '16 yella manasu'
With Bhanupriya in an important role, Suresh Krishna and Amritha playing the lead roles, '16 Yella Manasu' directed by popular Malayalam director Kamal and produced by Venkata Radhakrishna Mandapati on the banner of RK's Cinema is all set for release on December 1.
Producer Venkata Radhakrishna Mandapati says, 'The director of this film, Kamal, had bagged best director award at national level for three times earlier. We are sure that this film with love backdrop would enthrall all classes of audiences.
Already the audio which was released into the market with the tunes provided by music director Alphonse to the lyrics of Veturi is getting good response. While the title '16 Yella Manasu' would attract the youth, the performance of Bhanupriya would attract the family audiences. Her role in this film would be on par with her role in 'Chatrapati'.
'Pellaina Kothalo' to be released on Dec 9th
Shooting activities as well as post-production works were completed for Pellaina Kothalo, directed and produced by Madan under the banner of Aa Naluguru Films with Jagapatibabu and Priyamani in the lead.
Director-producer Madan says, 'We are planning to release the film on December 9th. Agastya is being introduced as music director through this film.There is a good response to the audiocassettes released into the market recently. We are making efforts to release the CDs on December 3rd. If the individual independence among the wife and husband grows, there will be differences of opinions, which might lead to loneliness instead of happiness. I tried to highlight this theme in my film in an entertaining way.'
Besides Jagapatibabu and Priyamani, who were the lead artistes, Astha Singhal and Raju Sundaram are playing important roles in this film.
Jagapatibabu says, 'The story explains in an entertaining way that there should be a good understanding between wife and husband. I have got full confidence that the Telugu film industry had got one more good director through this film. Moreover, it is very gratifying that I was able to work with several senior artistes.

No smoking for actresses from January
The Censor Board originally aimed its scissors against smoking scenes. Then it was modified to screening these scenes with a warning subtitle that 'smoking is injurious to health.' Next came the enforcement from the Animal Welfare Board that animals could not be used in films without the No Objection Certificate from the AWB. As a result, many films including 'Imsai Arasan' had a hard time before getting released.
This problem also got solved and now the Censor Board has thought of something else. From now on, scenes of actresses smoking on screen will be edited out. The South Censor Board is to set this into motion from coming January.
Those who saw Aishwarya puff in 'New' and 'Priyasakhi' and Asin in 'M Kumaran...' have to reconcile to the fact that they can't see such scenes on screen any more!
Sainikudu a disappointment?
Is Sainikudu a disappointment for viewers who were eagerly waiting for its release? Below are few comments about the movie from reviewers.

Aishwarya to marry twice!
Though the entire world is screaming that Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachan are about to wed, both the families are tight lipped on the matter. The recent turn of events substantiate the fact that Ash and Abhi will walk down the aisle earlier 2007.
Aishwarya reportedly has Mangalya Dosh for which remedial poojas have been performed in Varanasi recently by both the families, which was reported by us earlier.
Under these circumstances, it is reported that the priests in Varanasi have advised Kumbh Vivah be performed for Aishwarya before she weds Abhishek.

Charmee to play opposite comedian Sunil?!
Much sought after heroine, Charmee is willing to pair comedian-turned –hero, Sunil. With the miraculous success of his film, ‘Andala Ramudu’, many producers are coming forward offering him lead roles. Sensing this trend, small time heroines are after him.
It is only Charmy from the top ranking heroines, who volunteered to play opposite to Sunil. Sunil could not believe her words, when she said she would like to be his heroine on sets recently.
He thought it was a joke and humbly said, ‘you are above my stature’. Charmy clarified it was a serious proposal. A producer has already come forward to make them pair, sources say.
Asin is a perfectionist!
Asin is a perfectionist, a brat with loads of attitude! That’s the tagline which people (read detractors) in the industry have given her. Asin has worked magic with the ordinary viewers and is clearly at the top.
This year, she had just one release Varalaaru which has been declared a super hit by the trade. Added to that, her competitors just cannot match her success ratio in Tamil.
In the last two years Asin has done just six films in Tamil - M.Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi (Super hit), Ullam Ketkume (Hit), Ghajini (Blockbuster), Majaa (Flop), Sivakasi (Super Hit) and Varalaaru (Super Hit). Out of six films, she had one blockbuster; three super hits a, one hit and a flop!
Asin’s strike rate is awesome-83 percent. No other heroine in Tamil cinema has dished out so many hits in recent times. Added to that, she has managed a great mix where her roles are concerned. In Tamil commercial cinema where heroines are there just for songs and glamour, Asin has gone beyond the script. She has been able to carve out something different in her roles that she has etched out so far.
She takes personal care about her make-up, and costumes that appeal to family audiences. Her comedy timing, dancing and expressions are inimitable. Added to all this, Asin is the only heroine among the current crop of girls who dubs in her own voice which augers well for the characters she portray on screen.
Above all, her image is crystal clear as she has not been romantically linked with any of her heroes and there is not even a single whiff of scandal a round her. She has certainly managed a balance as far as her image is concerned as she is only seen at functions with her parents, whom she considers as her biggest pillar of strength.
Her co-stars may find her to be aloof and keeping her distance but this policy has worked to her advantage. The bottom line is that Asin is one girl who is full of beans and a positive attitude to boast. 2007 is going to be her real test as she has three big films- Aalwar with Ajit, Pokiri with Vijay and Dashaavtar with Kamal Hassan. And with her strike rate, she is sure to go places.
Says Asin, “For the last two months I had no time for rest. I am working round the clock shooting during days and dubbing during nights. But the funny thing is that I enjoy it thoroughly, as the units that I am working with, are excellent.” She also added that she is trying to find time to watch Dhoom-2 on the big screen.
She adds, “I want to see the film as Nirav Shah my Pokiri cameraman is said to have done an amazing job in the film.”
Nagma excels in nine languages!
Nagma has shown her acting abilities in many languages including Bhojpuri. Now she is to a pious role as goddess Lakshmi! Nagma has already acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali and Bhojpuri films. Now she's to act in a Marathi film 'Thamp Lakshmi Thamp' and she is the goddess Lakshmi!
Including the Marathi film, Nagma would have acted in films in 9 languages.
People are checking out if there is any other actor or actress who has acted in as many languages. Since Nagma is fluent in Marathi, she will dub her own dialogues.
There's a minor controversy. Nagma is supposed to have got this role on the recommendation of her ex-Bhojpuri actor boyfriend!
Arjun's old movie dubbed into Telugu as 'Bhagat'
Arjun constantly keeps trying and is always at something or the other. Arjun has managed to keep himself afloat in both Tamil and Telugu for several years now. Arjun who constantly dubs his Tamil films into Telugu is also doing it now. But this time it is with a difference.
One of his old films is now being dubbed into Telugu. Arjun’s Annan Ennada Thambi Ennada is being dubbed into Telugu as Bhagat. Rekha is the heroine.
Arjun plays a director in the film. But it is Arjun’s action sequences that Kolli Vasudeva Rao, the producer, is banking on heavily. Manorama is also playing an important character. Music is by Aabhavanan.
Arjun sure knows a thing or two about keeping himself afloat.
Chiru, Venky in LRMB remake??
It is a known fact that Gemini Film Circuit had paid an impossible rate to grab the South remake rights of Lage raho Munnabhai. It is now more or less confirmed to be done with Chiranjeevi in Telugu. Now the buzz is all about the director and ATM role.
It is heard that Prabhudeva will direct this film. It should be noted that Prabhudeva composed amazing dances for Chiranjeevi in the past.
Coming to ATM role played by Arshad Warsi in Hindi (Srikanth in Telugu SD MBBS), the buzz is interesting. It is heard that Suresh productions is keen on getting associated with this project in Telugu.
If it works out then Gemini and Suresh Productions will produce it in Telugu. In such case, there is a high probability of Venkatesh playing the ATM role. If so, that will be biggest multi-starrer in few decades.
However, Gemini Films paid a whopping amount and it is to be seen if they want to associate with another production house to do it in Telugu. The key thing here is that Venkatesh is reportedly very interested in the ATM role.
Also, it is more or less confirmed that Kamal Hassan (who did Munna Bhai in Tamil) will not do Lageraho remake. Rather the production banner is trying to rope in the present generation guys Vijay, Surya or Vikram.
The directoral responsibilities are bagged by editor Mohan's son Raja. In any case, both Tamil and Telugu projects seem to be touching the sky with planning.
Nayanatara opposite Raviteja, Hansika out
Nayanatara is on signing spree in Telugu. She has bagged another film. Nayantara has paired up with hero Ravi Teja in a new film to be directed by Srinu Vaitla. Initially, Hansika was chosen for the role but she’s backed out due to callsheets’ problems.
Director Srinu Vaitla confirms that Nayantara has signed on the dotted line for the film. It would be launched on December 11th. The film is produced by Baghavan and Danaiah. Manisharma is scoring the music.

Kajol with incredible team
Director Rajamouli and young hero NTR are surely a hot combination. After giving successive hits ‘Student No.1’ and ‘Simhadri’ together, they are joining hands again for a new film titled ‘Yamadonga’. Sources said that Kajol, who made her Telugu debut with ‘Lakshmi Kalyanam’, has been roped in to play the heroine.
‘Yamadonga’ is a heavy-budgeted and socio-fantasy film to be produced by director Rajamouli under his home banner Viswamitra Creations. Noted music director MM Keeravani is going to set the tunes and Vijayendra Prasad has provided the storyline. It is expected to go to the floors in the month of December and make it to the theatres in July.
'Maa Daivam Peddayana' audio released
DTS mixing work is going on for 'Maa Daivam Peddayana'. It is the dubbed version of the successful Tamil film 'Ayyaa' directed by K Balachander with Sarathkumar as hero in dual roles.
PJ Reddy is producing the dubbed version under the banner PL Arts. He said, “Sharatkumar is playing the role of an MLA who works for the facelift of his village and his son supports him always and fulfills his ambitions. The scenes with Sarathkumar and Napoleon will highlight the value of friendship, while the scenes between Prakashraj and Sarathkumar are also interesting. The film has a rural backdrop. We are releasing the audio on November 29.”
Producer PJ Reddy said, “There are seven songs in the film. I believe my debut venture would be a big hit. We will complete the post-production formalities of the film very soon and release the film in December.”
'Annavaram' - a sentimental mass entertainer
Except for a song and some patch work, Pawan Kalyan’s Annavaram is complete. The one song left will be shot abroad, according to sources close to the unit. Pawan who is going through a rough weather in his career is hoping to bounce back with this film.
Annavaram is a brother-sister sentimental drama loaded with powerful dialogues in typical mass entertainer format. Pawan who refused to mouth over-the-top dialogues till now, comes with retorts and comments penned by Abburi Ravi (Bommarillu fame). Pawan is impressed with Ravi’s knack for sharp dialogues.
Ramana Gogula, one time favorite of Pawan Kalyan is providing music for the film which is a remake of the Tamil super hit Tirupachi. The audio will hit the market next week. It is slated for December 29th release.
'Aata' taglined Puli meeda swari
MS Raju's Aata is taglined Puli meeda swaree. The film is a intense love story and is directed by VN Aditya. The tag line and the theme of the film seems to have no relevance. The producer says that it is a secret and will be known only after the release of the film.
Initially this film was to be directed by Harish. But then VN Aditya took over. Similarly, Mamata Mohandas was announced as the heroine in this film but then it was changed to Ileana.
Also it is heard that Sharwanand is playing a key role in the film. The unit recently wrapped up a schedule in Rajamundry. Next schedule is planned in Araku valley. Sidhartha is the hero.

Mayabazaar : a tribute to the old classic
Mayabazaar, directed by Indraganti Mohanakrishna and jointly produced by B. Satyanarayana and Rajkishore Khavare under the banner of Satyam Enterprises with Raja and Bhoomika in the lead, is all set for release on December 1st.
Producers say, 'Our film is a tribute to the old classic Mayabazaar directed by K.V. Reddy. There is a saying in Telugu — 'Dhana Mulamidam Jagat', which means, the entire world revolves around money. Almost all the human relations are linked to financial implications.
We tried to display thorugh this movie, how people will dance to the tune of the money power. The film was made like a good entertainer by our director Mohanakrishna.'
Director says, 'This is like a litmus test for me as director. My debut film, Grahanam, bagged an award at the national-level had a strong story base and I was able to weave the entire film with the help of a good subject.
But this film Mayabazaar has some commercial values as well. Several senior artistes and the present generation artistes worked together in this film; I too had a great opportunity to work with the artistes of two generations in this film. I am sure the film would be a big hit and attract all classes of audiences.'

Trisha caught in MMS mischief again!
Yet again, Trisha has hit the MMS porn circuit with another clip. After Sania Mirza, Preity Zinta and Mallika Sherawat, the MMS scandal has made a full circle, and has come back to actress Trisha. This time the MMS is about the actress working out in the gym.
The clip features a very naked “Trisha” with her back towards the camera, exercising in the gym. According to people who have caught a glimpse of the MMS, it is quite evident that the message is morphed. Says Vikrant Narayanan, who recently received the MMS, "Initially the woman in the video clip seems like it’s Trisha, it was only when she turns around that it is evident it is not the actress. Whoever initialised the clip obviously had a lot of time on his hands."
This time around, Trisha has smartly decided to not even bother to react to this new irritation. When asked about MMS she replied that she was aware of the MMS but did not want to say anything about it. "The last time the MMS scandal happened, it completely blew out of proportion. I know that this will blow over, so I really don’t have anything to say about it," she says.She feels that if she reacts to this one, it would only draw more attention to it.
Trisha these days is busy with her Telugu film with director Selvaraghavan. Venkatesh is the hero. Her next film will be with Nagarjuna. In Tamil, she'll star with Ajith in a new film.
Veteran Director D.Yoganand passed away
Famous Director D Yoganand passed away on November 23, 2006 at his residence in Chennai. He was 84 years old was unwell for some time complaining of Heart problems. Yoganand hailed from Guntur district and is from the era of earlier actors from Srivatsa ( Malleshwari's Srikrishnadevarayulu).
With receptive attitude he was brought up in Chennai in the precinct of Freedom Fighters and actively participated in the struggle, and later shifted to the Cinema field. He entered the film industry and worked as an associate to Ramabrahmam and LV Prasad. It is LV Prasad who gave him a chance to direct a film under his banner. Yoganand's first film was 'Ammalakkalu.’
Yoganand had good intimacy with the legendary NT Rama Rao and famous music director TV Raju. In fact, they lived together in a room in Chennai. Most of Yoganand’s films, numbering around 17 had NT Rama Rao in the lead.
Yoganand had directed such classics like Ummadi Kutumbam, Todudongalu, Kodalu Diddina Kapuram, Vaade Veedu, Tikka Shankaraiah, Jayasimha, Vemulavada Bheemakavi, Dabbuku Lokam Dasoham –Pelli Sandadi and around 50 various films in Telugu and Tamil.
Ummadi Kutumbabam was selected for Moscow Film Festival and Todudongalu won the Rastrapathi Merit Award for best film.
His last film was Charitranayakan in Tamil which was remake of NTR starrer Chandashashnudu and was produced in Tamil by NTR.
He directed 17 films with hero NTR.

'Shankar' nearing completion
Post-production works are nearing completion for 'Shankar' directed by Madhu and produced by Chadalavada Padmavathi with Sashikant and Manasa in the lead.
Producer Padmavathi said, “Our film is an action-oriented movie. The hero of the film is a representative of the present generation youth. His aim is a suspense and it has to be watched on the screen. The tunes provided by Vandemataram Srinivas would be a highlight. We are planning to release the film on December 8.”
Rahul Dev, Ali, MS Narayana and others are in the cast.
Superhit Good Films 'E' in Telugu
Producer RB Chowdhary, who produced many super hit films on his Superhit Good Films banner, has now introduced his son Jeeva with the film E. This was released in Tamil on Deepavali and was a success. Nayanatara acted opposite Jeeva.
Now Chowdhary has decided to dub the film in Telugu with the same title. “E means Eswara, which is the name of the hero. Everybody dislikes E, but he becomes a hero, and how he does it is the story,” said Chowdhary.
He added that Jeeva was trained in gymnastics and Judo and those helped him in this film.

Tarakaratna's 'Mukkanti' movie shoot launched
The shooting of 'Mukkanti' being made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages on the banner of Shukra Cine Creations was launched at Ramakrishna Cine Studios in Hyderabad on November 27. Nandamuri Mohana Krishna gave the clap, while Nandamuri Ramakrishna switched on the camera for the muhurat shot.
Earlier, Nandamuri Jayashankar Krishna performed formal puja activities. Later, Tarakaratna says, 'I took a long gap from my last film 'No'. It is a very good character and has lots of scope to perform. Moreover the role had a lot of mass appeal. I am playing the role of a youth who looks innocent but intelligent. Rajkiran of 'Pandem Kodi'-fame is playing a special role in this film. There are three heroines in the film.'
Director Rajkrishna says, 'This is my debut film. I gained experience in the department of direction by working as an assistant to Selvabharati. In fact, I prepared this story some seven years ago. I came to a conclusion that Tarakaratna would suit the role best after watching his film 'Okato Number Kurradu'. I immediately approached him and narrated the story to which he okayed. Moreover, I got very good producers and I will utilize this opportunity to prove myself.'
One of the producers Kartikeyan says, 'So far I am in the real estate business and entered the film industry for the first time to make this bilingual film and I wish the film would be a big success.'
Another producer Kesavan says, 'I have experience in making films in Tamil and several of my films were big hits. However, this is my debut film in Telugu. We are introducing a new face as villain in this film. We will continue shooting for 25 days and the film would be completed in a single schedule.'
Heroines Puja Gandhi, Shamna and Bhuvana thanked the producers and director for giving them an opportunity. Asish Vidyardhi, Brahmanandam, Malaysia Sreenu, Pasupati, Jayalalitha and others are in the cast.
Camera is by Arul Das, action is by Super Subbarayan, music is by Srikanth Deva, story, screenplay and direction are by Rajkrishna.

'Madhumasam' - healthy entertainment with human values
The shooting of 'Madhumasam' starring Sumanth, Sneha and Parvati Melton in the lead roles is under brisk progress at Nanakramguda, Hyderabad . The movie produced by movie moghal Dr. D. Ramanaidu on their home Suresh Productions banner is directed by Chandra Siddarth, who directed the hit family entertainer Aa Naluguru.
Dr. Ramanaidu said that at a time when human values are fast disappearing, this film with a homely title will provide healthy entertainment to all sections of the audiences. Based on a clean love story, the film will extensively deal with the importance of amicable family relations on the lines of their previous hit "Kalisundam Raa".
He further said he has lot of confidence in Chandra Siddarth, whose directorial capacity was proved with his film Aa Naluguru. Hero Sumanth is coming up with a characterization that has ample scope for displaying multi-emotions felt in human nature. Extra asset of the film is music by music moghal Mani Sharma. Director Siddarth said he felt overwhelmed with the chance to render his job in a famed banner like Suresh Productions, at the beginning of his career. The story is going to be very new to the audiences and at the same time cent percent care is taken to its treatment.

Veteran actress G.Varalakshmi passed away
Veteran actress G.Varalaxmi passed away in Chennai at her residence. She is 80. G.Varalaxmi was receiving treatment at a private hosiptal in Chennai. She was discharged on Saturday and was again admitted to the hospital on Sunday after her condition turned critical. She passed away on sunday.
G. Varalakshmi, the second wife of KS Prakasa Rao, father of director K Raghavendra Rao, was staying with her daughter Kanakadurga at Chennai.
Born in 1927 at Ongole district (present Prakasam district), she entered Telugu films through 'Bhakta Prahlada' as a child artiste. Her films Kula Gotralu, Mangalya Bandham and Pelli Chesi Choodu earned her a good name. Her last film was 'Leta Manasulu.’

Hindi 'Baabul' as 'Premabhishekam' in Telugu
The Bollywood hit film Baabul, directed by Ravi Chopra under the banner of BR Films is being dubbed into Telugu as Premabhishekam. The old classic Premabhishekham,with Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sridevi and Jayasudha directed by Dasari Narayana Rao was the biggest hit during those days.
Santosh Kumar, producer of the Telugu version of the latest Premabhishekam, says, 'Thespian and the late NT Rama Rao's daughter-in-law Madhavi Sai Krishna is presenting this film. It is a rarest opportunity to dub a film made on a prestigious banner like BR Films by BR Chopra into Telugu. Moreover, the film has different elements like family, sentiment and love which are the favourites of the Telugu audiences.'
'In fact, it is Amitabh Bachchan who advised us to dub the film into Telugu. The audio has become a big hit in Hindi already. We will soon release the Telugu audio in a week's time. The film would be released simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages on December 8'.

'Geetanjali' - reflection of a real story
The successful Malayalam film 'Alice in Wonderland' is being dubbed into Telugu as 'Geetanjali' by GD Prasada Rao under the banner Prasad G Films, with Sandhya of 'Premiste' fame as the heroine and Vineeth and Jayaram as heroes.
Popular heroine Laya is playing in an important role in this film. 'Geetanjali' is a good and beautiful love story. It is the reflection of a real story. The film will have several elements to attract the youth, amply supplemented by melodious songs and romantic scenes.
Noted music director Vidyasagar is providing tunes to this flick.
The dubbing activities would be completed by November end and the film would be released in the third week of December.

Mahesh hunts for 'meaty roles'
Andhra actor Mahesh Babu, who has bagged state awards for five out of his seven films, is on the lookout for "meaty roles". He says "I think awards rejuvenate one's spirits and bestow responsibility. I strive hard to live up to it every time".
Close on the heels of his film "Pokiri" becoming a hit, he bagged the Andhra Pradesh award for his intense performance in "Athadu".
"I am truly excited (about the award). I heard this news while dubbing for my next film - 'Sainikudu' - and immediately sought the blessings of my father," said Mahesh, who is veteran actor Krishna's son.
The actor added: "Without sounding pompous, I can say I knew that 'Athadu' would be a hit as soon as I heard the story and my confidence stands vindicated. I should also thank director Trivikram for giving me such a good role.
"I bagged special jury awards for three films and the best actor award for two out of the seven films I have acted in. My father told me that it is a rare achievement to bag so many awards in such a short span and urged me to do more good films. I have resolved to follow his advice by picking meaty roles."
This year went well for Mahesh. "2006 has given me lot of happiness. My film 'Pokiri' was a hit, my sister got married and I became a father. It has given me both professional and personal happiness. I am also looking forward to another interesting film - 'Sainikudu' - this year."
He promises that "Sainikudu" will be a full-blown entertainer "with slick action and well-mounted songs".

Arthi Agarwal takes a break from films
'Andala Ramudu' was a film that was crucial for many people associated with it, especially the hero and the heroine. Sunil was making a transition from being a comedy actor to hero with that film. Arthi Agarwal, who was dealing with lots of personal problems, also was desperate about the film's outcome.
The film turned out to be an offbeat hit at the box office and Arthi is now convinced that she still has a future in Tollywood. But the actress has decided to take a break from acting and is now concentrating on studies.
She has enrolled herself in a course on Organizational Management in a management institute in Mumbai. She intends to return to films after completing the course.

Gopika signs another Telugu film
Popular Malayalam heroine Gopika, made her debut into the Telugu films through 'Naa Autograph Sweet Memories'. Very recently she played the role of a journalist in 'Veedhi'. Now, she had signed another Telugu film to be produced by C Narasimha Reddy on the banner of Sri Dinesh Brothers.
The film would be directed by Ravi Sharma. The songs for the film were recorded recently under the musical direction of SA Rajkumar. Producer Narasimha Reddy says, 'We will start shooting from the first week of December.' Director Ravi Sharma says, 'It is very common and routine to fall in love during the college and teenage. At the same time, their love gets failed due to various reasons including caste, religion, rich, poor and other such petty reasons. But the couple in our film are not like this kind normal lovers. In our film, love is hero, heroine and villain also. Everything was immersed in love.'
Bhanuchander, Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Ali, Kallu Chidambaram, Sudha, Shakeela, Harathi, Archana Roy and others are in the cast. Cinematography is by Vasu, lyrics are by Veturi, Abhinaya Srinivas, dialogues are by Madhusri and editing is by Nandamuri Hari.
Heroine wanted for Uday
His debut with veteran director K Balachandar’s 101st film titled Poi (Abaddam in Telugu) was highly hyped but the film is yet to see the day of the light even after ten months of its completion. Now Uday is back in Tollywood after he bagged producer Larsco Sridhar’s (Evadi Gola Vadidi and Style) next film titled Viyyalavari Kayyalu which is scheduled to go on floors by December 1st. Sattibabu is the director but the film is stuck even before the shooting started as Sridhar is not able to find the right heroine. Mamata Mohandas the sexy siren from Malayalam was approached for the role first but she declined the offer. 'Shankar Dada Zindabad' to begin in January
It is well aware that 'Shankar Dada MBBS' with Mega Star Chiranjeevi in the title role was a big hit. It is the remake of 'Munnabhai MBBS'. The sequel to this film 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' had also created ripples not only in the Bollywood, but also in the entire India. Popular production house Gemini Film Circuit had bagged the remake rights of this film in Telugu. Now they are planning to remake this film again with Chiranjeevi in the lead with the title 'Shankar Dada Zindabad'.
While 'Shankar Dada MBBS' gave a message that a disease could be cleared not just with a medicine but with a good heart, 'Shankar Dada Zindabad' would give a message that anything could be achieved with non-violence instead of violence. The film is most likely to go to sets in January in the presence several film personalities. It is rumoured that Prabhu Deva is likely to direct the film.
Bommarillu Bhaskar to direct Naga Chaitanya
Seems like all the star sons are getting ready for the big step. And the father’s are leaving no stone unturned. After hot shot director Puri Jagannadh was roped in to direct Ram Charan Teja, son of Chiranjeevi, for his debut movie, young director Bhaskar, of Bommarillu fame, has apparently been roped in to direct actor Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya for his debut movie. The official announcement is yet to be made. Naga Chaitanya is presently in Mumbai getting groomed in an acting institute. Actress Tabu is also helping the youngster move in the right direction.

Garlanded Ash-Abhi in Varanasi/Knot or not?
Did they or did they (k)not? When the entire Bachchan clan arrived in the holy town of Varanasi with Aishwarya Rai in tow late on Sunday night, it sent rumour mills on an overdrive.
Did Bollywood's first family fly to Varanasi to solemnise the much-anticipated wedding between scion Abhishek and his lady-love Aishwarya?
Or was it just a ritual being conducted to observe the 99th birth anniversary of Amitabh Bachchan's father and noted poet late Harivarnshrai Bachchan? Well, no one can say for sure.
With Bachchans and Ash remaining tight lipped over the issue, the mystery continues. Early on Monday morning, when a garlanded Abhishek and Aishwarya – accompanied by the Bachchans - emerged from the Sankat Mochan temple it sent the media, which had been camping overnight, aflutter.
According to reports, Abhishek's father and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, mother Jaya, sister Shweta Nanda, uncle Ajitabh and his daughter Namrata and Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh took part in a Mangla Aarti and Rudra Abhishek rituals at the ancient temples.
The family also offered prayers at Ram Janaki temple near Sankat Mochan temple and participated in an aarti for Lord Hanuman there.
The Bachchans and Aishwarya reached temples amidst police posse and a battery of media persons on Sunday night.
"They performed the rituals with great zeal. Amitabh and Jaya offered the jalabhishek (offering of water to the deity). I also requested Abhishek and Aishwarya to do so," Kashi Viswanath temple priest Srikant Tripathi was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
Quizzed on the reasons for Bachchans conducting such pujas, Tripathi said he was not aware of the reasons and that there was no specific ritual performed to reduce the influence of Mars on the actors.
Astrologer Chandramouli Upadhyaya, who met the Bachchans late on Sunday night, said there was no discussion on the marriage and the family had gone there to offer prayers at the temples to overcome a problem relating to the horoscope of Aishwarya.
There have been considerable speculation in the media about marriage between Abhishek and Aishwarya but neither family has confirmed it.
Amitabh had said in London on November 9 this year that he wanted Abhishek to settle with a "good girl" of his choice.
Asked about the prospect of Abhishek marrying Aishwarya, the older Bachchan had quipped: "I have also heard about it. You should ask the people who spread the rumour."
Abhishek and Aishwarya have starred together in Hindi films like Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Na Kaho, recently- released Umrao Jaan and Dhoom II as also Mani Ratnam's forthcoming flick Guru.
The Bachchans flew into this temple town by a chartered flight late on Sunday night and had occupied seven suites in Hotel Taj Ganges.
The star guests entered the hotel through the rear entrance giving a slip to the media and a surge of onlookers assembled at the lobby and outside.

Directed and produced by G Nageswara Reddy on the banner of Sri Katyayani Creations with 'Allari' Naresh and Farjana in the lead, the shooting of 'Seema Sastry', with a tagline 'Bheebhatsamaina Factionist' is progressing well.

'Punnami Vennela' with filmy backdrop
'Punnami Vennela' starring the debutantes Vasu and Varshini, is getting ready for post-production works with its shoot being completed. The entire movie is set in the backdrop of movies. 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' in Telugu and Tamil
Bollywood flick Lage Raho Munnabhai, which popularised Mahatma Gandhi's ideals, is being remade in Tamil and Telugu. Actor Ravi of Jayam fame is likely to play the lead role in Tamil, while Chiranjeevi will be the Telugu avatar of Sanjay Dutt's original Munnabhai.
Ravi's brother M Raja will direct the Tamil version, which will be produced by Gemini Films Circuit. The company had earlier successfully remade Munnabhai MBBS in Tamil.The film is going to hit floors in Telugu and Tamil in the month of January 2007.
It is gossiped that Telugu version is going to be directed by Prabhudeva.

'Pellaina Kothallo' audio launched in a true wedding ceremony style
Jagapathi Babu seems to have realized that his films work only if he does family based dramas. After a row of action flicks turned damp squibs at the box-office, he is back to soft films. In Pellaina Kottallo, Jagapathi Babu and Priyamani (Tamil heroine) play newly wed couple. As the title suggests, the film is about the romance between the honeymooners.
Pellaina Kottallo is the maiden directorial venture of writer Madan. He has shot to fame with Aa Naluguru which was highly appreciated and won Nandi award. The audio of the film was launched on November 23 in a true wedding ceremony style – with from the décor of the dais to the food served to the guests by the lead pair.
An American Salsa dancer Astha Singhal is making debut as the second heroine. Raju Sundaram plays another key role. The film hits the theatres next month.

Miss Andhra 2005 to debut on Tamil screen
Miss Andhra 2005 Poonam Kaur aka Deepa debuted on Telugu screen with the films 'Mayajaalam' and 'Oka V Chitram'. But both the films toppled at the box office miserably. As both the films failed, she has now decided to come back to her old name as per the gossip.
The latest information is that she is going to debut on Tamil screen with the film 'Nenjilirukkum Varai', which means 'until you stay in heart'.
Interesting aspect is that the director of the film is SA Chandrasekaran who introduced Simran to screen with the film 'Once More'. Another small coincidence is that both Simran and Poonam Kaur hail from Punjab.
With this, the impressions are making rounds that like Simran who shook the industry with her films, even Poonam would do the same after falling in the hands of SA Chandrasekaran.
Let us see if this flop Telugu heroine sees brightness at least in Tamil.

SRK to replace Big B in KBC3
Fans of popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati are in for a big treat as the makers of the show have found a replacement for superstar host Amitabh Bachchan. None other than Shah Rukh Khan will get into the Big B’s shoes this time around. Star TV’s money-spinner show is expected to be back on the small screen in March next year.
“I was pleasantly surprised when STAR offered me the show. I was a participant in season one of KBC and little did I know one day I would be hosting it,” Shah Rukh says.
“It is a huge act to follow, that of Mr Bachchan but it also excites me that I am getting an opportunity to reach out, talk and interact with my audience through a medium where I began my career as an actor years ago,” Shah Rukh adds.
Bachchan had recently said in an interview that the modalities for the third run of the show were being worked out with the channel. But it seems the makers had a bigger surprise in store for the audience.
Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is loosely based on the famous UK game show Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, was first aired in 2000. The show was revived four years later as Kaun Banega Crorepati Dwitiya in which the prize money was also doubled to Rs 2 crore.
But the second run of the show was short-lived as Bachchan fell ill. Now it seems Star TV is all set to revive the show with an eye on the TRPs that the show had once managed to garner. And as far Shah Rukh’s brand value is concerned, Star has struck gold.
“We are extremely delighted to announce the Next Generation avatar of KBC and are even more pleased to present Shah Rukh Khan, as its host. We promise to engage and deliver to our audiences a whole new entertainment experience,” CEO, Star Entertainment India, Sameer Nair says.
So, post-Don, get ready for another Big B versus SRK match.

'Hope' makers next film titled 'Chandrahaas'
Harinath, who produced the critically acclaimed Hope, has now signed noted lyricist Sivasakthi Datta to direct his next film titled Chandrahaas. To be made under the banner of Concept Films Pvt. Ltd., the film will have music by MM Keeravani (Sivasakthi Datta's real-life son) and cinematography by Raja Ratnam. It will be launched on December 6 with a muhurat.
Incidentally, Lagapati Sridhar's Viyyalavari Kayyalu, starring Srihari and Udaykiran in lead roles and directed by E. Sattibabu, will also be launched on the same day.

'Ghatotkachudu' in an animated version
Versatile director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, who worked as an assistant director for 'Maya Bazar' is now directing the animated version of 'Ghatotkachudu'. Suryadevara Vinod is producing the animated version of the film on the banner of The Sun Animatics India Ltd.
The Telugu audiences could not forget the 'Ghatotkacha' role played by the all-time great artiste SV Ranga Rao and the song 'Vivaha Bhojanambu…'.
The producer is planning to release the film in seven languages simultaneously. According to the director, the animation works are being carried out at different countries including the Philippines, London, Manila, Singapore besides Hyderabad.
Like the recent release 'Hanuman', this film would also attract both the children as well as the elders alike. Producer Vinod says, 'The songs penned by Samir for the Hindi version were already recorded.
It is Veturi and Vennelalanti who took the responsibility of providing lyrics for the Telugu version. Ovel Mina is the animation director.
