When director Shankar makes a film, he gets a contract from his stars which states that the lead stars shouldn't act in any other project until his film gets released. Sadha watched helplessly when she couldn't accept any of the new offers that came her way when she was acting in 'Aparichitudu'.

But Shriya is very smart.

Just before signing up for 'Shivaji', she had accepted a film with Rajinikanth's son-in-law. 'Shivaji' isn't ready yet, but the film with his son-in-law, which started after this, had got ready and was released a few days ago. The film is doing pretty good business. As always, Shriya looks beautiful and glamorous in the film.

Mystery still prevails about the release date of the bilingual 'Shivaji'.

Reviews: Rakhi

The plus points are NTR’s exceptional performance, Krishna Vamsi and the first half.
The story is old-school, the treatment is not which is expected out of Krishna Vamsi. Don't go expecting a KV movie, expect an NTR Jr.'s movie.
Ileana for the first time was shown to have purpose in the film. With this she might get films which has something more to offer than glamour alone.
First half passes on with a few slag moments. Second half is what turns the entire course of the film. It is kind of unconceivable that one can kill 42 people in a day and is very cinematic but is better than exaggeration in present trend.

Uday Kiran is hitting the silver screen tomorrow after a long gap with the film 'Abadhdham'. He says that all the talks that are prevailing outside are only rumors and there is no connection between his personal and professional life.

Rumors:

I never run way from gossips. There won't be thrill in film industry without gossips. I have seen all sorts of ups and downs in my career. I think I got more experienced in that way. I kept quiet without films all these days only to give one good film instead of acting in all.

Kollywood Offer:

I got the Kollywood offer that too in the direction of K. Balachander. It's really a great thrill to work with such legendary director who introduced many bigwigs to Tollywood screen.

Tollywood Career:

I can never forget my Telugu Film Industry. I work for movies and I live only with that. Many rumors spelled out stating that I was running a restaurant in London and hence left the industry. But that would never happen. I'll be with films all the while. I take tips from my fans and well wishers. I also have a few female fans who give suggestions to my dressing style and grooming.

Dream Gilr Sridevi:

Sridevi was my favorite actress and I used to dream to dance with her at least in one film when I was in 6 th and 7th standards.

Chiranjeevi's Inspiration:

My inspiration is Chiranjeevi. My entire family is fond of Chiranjeevi. I have watched many films of him in childhood.

Abadhdham:

This new film would bring me out from hibernation. It would answer all the gossips surrounding me. Balachander sir made it a wonderful film. This would certainly boost up my image.

Let us wish all the best fro Uday Kiran.

Maddy on Aish-Abhishek

Shooting of the star-studded Manirathnam film 'Guru' is drawing to a close. Song sequences are now being filmed. Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan and Vidhya Balan had played the lead roles in the film that is rumored to be based on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani.

"What was it like to work with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai?" was the question that was put to Madhavan.

"Abhishek Bachchan and I have been good friends for a long time now. Our friendship began when I was working in Manirathnam's 'Aayutha Yezhuthu'. Abhishek was starring in the Hindi version of the film, 'Yuva'. Both the films were shot simultaneously. He had played my role in the Hindi version.

"When we met again on the sets of 'Guru', it was simply the meeting of old friends.

"Everybody treats Aishwarya Rai as if she were an apsara. But that hasn't made her headstrong. She still has her feet firmly planted on the ground. Fact is- if I had the kind of fame and image that Abhishek or Aishwarya Rai had, I don't know if I would have been that down-to-earth," Maddy replied.

In the recent Tamil film 'Rendu', he had played dual roles for the first time in his career. The film is now doing good business all over the Tamil Nadu.

'Sainikudu' tops Telugu films list

Hotshot actor Mahesh Babu gives an unprecedented opening to "Sainikudu", which tops the Telugu films of the fortnight.

The top five Telugu films are:

1. "Sainikudu" - Director Gunasekar delivers a slick action film, which is doing remarkably well at the box office despite its hackneyed theme.

2. "Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw" - Director Prasad scores a hit with his hilarious entertainer, a remake of the Hindi hit "Malamaal Weekly". It is designed to attract the Telugu audience.

3. "Pogaru" - After "Pandem Kodi", Vishal delivers another hit to establish himself on the Telugu screen. Long action scenes are the USP of the film with the masses lapping up mindless 'actioners' these days.

4. "Samanyudu" - Jagapati Babu tastes a hit after a gap with the film. The film about a journalist trying to reform and then eliminating a corrupt minister has been well received and has comfortably crossed the 50-day mark.

5. "Mayabazar" - After a promising film like "Grahanam", director Mohan Krishna disappoints with this clumsy fusion of love and mythology.

Producers, distributors under pressure!

Ravi Teja's Khatarnak expected to open with 100 percent collections could only garner 60 to 70 percent openings in most areas. The trade sees it as a miss as Ravi Teja is regarded as one of the mass heroes in Tollywood and all his films have got a good opening and his last release Vikramarkudu was a huge hit.

For first time in Ravi Teja's career, the film was released in about 30 screens in Hyderabad alone. The film tripped off on the first day itself. The colossal failure of Sainikudu and Khatarnak has sent alarm bells among the trade circles.

It is a clear indication that only content sells, not the 'hot combinations'. Now producers, distributors and directors of forthcoming biggies like Rakhi, Annavaram, Desamuduru, Yogi and Maharadhi are under pressure. The buzz is that Puri Jagannadh is re-shooting his Desamuduru.
