Veteran actor Dhulipala passes away

Dhulipala Seeta Rama Sastry (86) who is known for his trademark roles of Sakuni in Telugu old classics passed away today at a hospital in Guntur. He is survived by two sons.

He acted in more than 300 films. He was born in Dachepally on 24th September 1921. He entered into stage plays in 1935 by doing female role. He established ‘Star Theater Group’ in Guntur in 1941 started giving stage shows.

He entered the Telugu film industry with Bheeshma film. He won Nandi award for his work in Bhandavyalu film. He was last seen in films like Choodalani Vundi (Prakash Raj’s father) and Murari.

He sold all his assets and started an ashram in Guntur. He was also known as Maruthi Sevendra Swamy.

Everytime you think of the character Sakuni in mahabharat,the one person who occurs to everyone's mind is Dhoolipala garu.A great yester year actor.May his soul rest in peace.
