Indian-born American-resident filmmaker Deva Katta's second film Prasthanam, starring Sharvanand and Ruby in the lead roles, was launched on June 10 at Aluminum Factory in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
M.R.V. Prasad Rao tapped the clapboard and Dasaratha Rama Rao switched on the camera. Director Deva Katta, Sharvanand, Sai Kumar, Vennela Kishore, Sandeep Kishan and Vanamali attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Deva Katta said: "Prasthanam is an intense political drama, depicting the rise and fall of a person. Sai Kumar, Sandeep Kishan and Vennela Kishore are playing vital roles in this film, to be extensively shot in Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Badami (Karnataka). We will shoot a song in Aluminum Factory. Savita Singh, who worked for Ram Gopal Varma’s Phoonk is handling the camera. Mahesh Shankar of Vennela and Prayanam fame is scoring the music. The film will be made in Digital Intermediate format."
Hero Sharwanand said: "I got my first break through Deva Katta with Vennela. Prasthanam is a script with good emotions. Deva worked over two years on this script. Prasthanam is going to be a technically superior movie with good content and it is going to be entirely different character for me."
Produced by Ravi Vallabhaneni under the banner of VRC Media and Entertainments, Prasthanam is presented by Sri Vallabhaneni Rosaiah. (more...)
