In a interesting turn of events, Tamil film producers council and Nadigar sangam has banned Nayantara from acting in any further Tamil movies unless further announcement is made from the council. The ban has been a result of the actress walking out of the movie Paiyya, and following this she refused to return the advance of 25 lakhs paid by Subash Chandra Bose, the producer of Paiyya.
Directed by hit filmmaker N. Linguswamy, Paiyaa stars Paruthiveeran Karthi in the lead role and is produced by Subash Chandra Bose. Earlier the industry was abuzz with news that with the current economic conditions, director linguswamy wanted Nayan to take a pay cut but Nayantara decided to skip the movie. Tamanna stepped into the shoes of Nayan for the female lead of this movie.

The TFPC and Nadigar Sangam have conveyed to their members, the producers not to sign her for any future films.

Mahesh Readies With Trivikram
News is that Mahesh Babu has completely dedicated himself to the new film that he is starting with Trivikram, after debacles like Athidi he seems to have decided to give the best shot to this film.
If insider news is to be believed, then the film is a complete romantic comedy accentuated with trademark Trivikram dialogues and one liners.
Mahesh, who has had a major role in the making of this script, has insisted that the film should be a feel good film, and Trivikram apparently has produced a beauty through the script. Buzz is that with the Trivikram and Mahesh Camaraderie in place, they have a winner on their hands. (more...)
Harassment case registered by city police against Kavitha
A police case was registered in SR Nagar police station against actress and Telugu Desam Party member Kavitha. The ‘harassment at work’ case was registered against Kavitha with regard to two servant girls who joined for work 5 months ago.
The two girls hailing from West Godavari district joined for household work in Kavitha’s house through an agent called Srinivasa Reddy. When Srinivasa Reddy visited Kavitha’s house recently, he learnt from the girls that Kavitha and her younger daughter were harassing them for quite some time. Hence, he along with the girls went to SR Nagar police station to give a written complaint against Kavitha. The police then filed a case against Kavitha under the SC, ST atrocities Act. But Kavitha is yet to react on this issue. (more...)
Dasari to make a film with Rajasekhar
It can be recalled that Dasari Narayana Rao made the film 'Ahankari' with Rajasekhar. It is now learnt that the director will be making another film starring Rajasekhar soon.
Dasari is currently playing the lead role in 'Mestri' which is being directed by Suresh Krishna, on his home production banner.
It is reliably learnt that he has prepared a powerful and purposeful subject and is itching to start work on it. The movie will start production once Rajasekhar's 'Na Style Veru' and the next in line with director Suryakiran are completed. The producer for this film is yet to be made known. (more...)
Srikanth is Mahatma!
Hero Srikanth is getting ready for his 100th film. Srikanth who rose to stardom without any godfather in the film industry wants this film to be remembered and should be talked about. Hence he has roped in director Krishnavamsi who gave him a big blockbuster with Khadgam and a memorable role in it. Krishnavamsi is said to have prepared a ‘powerful’ script with the help of writer’s duo Parachuri Brothers.

Nayantara faints on the sets
Nayanatara, who makes a comeback to Tollywood after a gap, with big budget action flick opposite junior NTR reportedly fainted on the sets, while shooting for some action sequences. According to a production source, she lost her balance and collapsed and the hurried unit members had to solicit the services of a medico.
Did it happen to due to excessive dieting? No, she was diagnosed with low BP, the source added. When we tried to get it confirmed with the svelte actress, AJITH, her manager, spoke to us and denied the incident. "It's all baseless and she is fine and fettle," he said. Films shoot in foreign locales are increasingly becoming a necessity. The reason some say is it is cheaper, other say it may not be cheaper but definitely more convenient. What ever may be the argument Tollywood makes it a point to give itself a global look.
The zest for such foreign locales is so high that producers keep searching for exotic locations to incorporate a new look into their films. If Switzerland, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore are explored locations, places like Australia and New Zealand have also been tried.
Former communist countries like Poland and Austria are also now hot and cheap locations for many producers.
As a matter of fact, there would be practically no country in the world where a Telugu film has not been shot, except probably impoverished countries like Somali and Ethiopia. Who knows one day songs may be shot here also!! (more...)

Yashraj Films to remake Arundathi in hindi
According to our reporter Bannu, the record breaking movie Arundathi is going to be remade in hindi by Yashraj Films production house. Yash Raj Films is on the verge of signing an agreement with telugu producer Shyam Prasad Reddy to remake Arundathi in hindi.
It is also being said that Kajol or Rani Mukerjee will play the role of Arundathi. Asin who made it big in Bollywood with superhit film Gazini is also in the race to become Arundathi. Also Amitab Bachchan is being approached for the role of Shiyyaji Shinde in telugu. (more...)
Ram Charan’s film titled ‘Magadheera’
The second film of hero Ram Charan directed by SS Rajamouli is in the final stages of shooting. Two more songs remain to be filmed for the film. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine and Sri Hari is playing the villain in the film.
The film’s title has not been finalized so far but the title ‘Dheerudu’ was in serious consideration. Now it is learnt that the title ‘Magadheera’ has been finalized. An official announcement will be made shortly. The film will hit the screens in April. (more...)

Young tiger Ntr is having two more films lined up for him other than the one which is in shooting stage. Though he is commited to campaign for Telugu Desam Party in the forth coming elections, Ntr is accepting to do movies and is also busily shooting for them to complete the movies and release them in time.
1. Ntr and Nayanatara are pairing up for the first time in an yet to be named movie which is being directed by VV Vinayak. Ntr and VV Vinayak are joining hands for the third time after super hit movies Aadi and Samba. It is being produced by Vamsi and is being presented by Nani. This movie will mostly be released during the summer of 2009.
2. The next movie will be produced by Nallamalupu Bujji and will be produced by Hari Shankar who earlier directed Shock movie.
3. The third movie will be produced by maverick producer Dil Raju and will be directed by Vamsi Paidipalli who earlier directed Munna. (more...)
Gopichand’s latest starts
Director of ‘Shouryam’, Siva is coming back for a new film with Gopichand and Trisha sharing screen space for the first time. J. Bhagavan and J.Pullareddy brothers are producing the film on Sri Balaji Cine Media banner. Sans publicity, the film launch function was held on 1st February in Balaji temple.
Sentimentally, the first (Muhurtham) shot of the film was taken in the temple premises in the direction of Shiva, featuring Gopichand. Producer J.Bhagavan sounded the clap board for the scene and J.Pulla Reddy switched on the camera. Following the shot, an action scene was also canned with Gopichand, Kaatraju, Fish Venkat and 100 junior artists.
A prominent role has been entrusted to actor Sathyaraj. ‘Jeyam’ was the film in which Trisha did the lead while Gopichand played the villain. The pair is now coming together as hero and heroine on screen.
Producer J. Bhagavan announced that the first schedule which began on Feb 1st will be continued till 7th March. The crew will then camp in foreign locales from April 1st to 15th. Songs along with some of the scenes will be done in this planned schedule. (more...)

Actress Sonali Bendre was the darling of the Andhra audience till she got married and said good bye to movies, but of late she has been spotted on television looking her ravishing self again.
She caught up with a lot of old friends in Hyderabad recently and reportedly has expressed her interest, to come back to acting in Telugu films, as a matter of fact, she is also in some heavy plans to produce a film and she intends to act in it.
