Bad news for Pawan Kalyan fans

The much touted action film ‘Komaram Puli’ with Pawan Kalyan playing the title role has been in the making for some time now. SJ Suryah of Khushi fame is the director. An international model based in London is debuting as the heroine with this film. But with the elections now scheduled to be held on April 16 and 23, the shooting for the film has been shelved completely. Pawan Kalyan will be busy campaigning for the Praja Rajyam from now on till the elections are held.

So there is no way Puli will hit the screens before summer. This comes as a huge disappointment for all Pawan Kalyan fans. (more...)

Mahesh still in holiday mood

Prince Mahesh Babu is still in a holiday mood. This is after nearly two years since he last donned the grease paint for a film. His last film was Athidhi
The fans of Mahesh Babu are getting exasperated as he is not showing any interest in commencing work on his new film. The film in he direction of Trivikram Srinivas is in the pipeline for nearly a year now with not a single shot being filmed so far.

It is understood that Mahesh Babu is now holidaying in the exotic holiday spots in Malaysia. It is expected that he will return by the end of this month. His fans hope that he will finally get down to work this time.

Ram Charan will not be pairing up with Deepika for a film but for a commercial. The ad is for the soft drink major Pepsi. Ayesha Gets Married

Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia got married to long time boy friend hotelier Farhan Azmi recently in Mumbai, the marriage was a much expected one and was also on cards for quite some time. Ayesha had never shied away from exposing the relationship and she had been open about it right from the day one, and so the culmination of her relationship with Farhan comes as no surprise.

Ayesha career never took off after her success in a film or two, she tried her hand in Tollywood but here too she failed, but this has not deterred Ayesha, the actress is confident and feels that she will continue to act and will make a comeback after her marriage. (more...)

The Gown Take-over

Showstoppers at the 54th Idea Filmfare Awards were our very own desi girls, who made heads, turn with their style statements and accessories. If most of them preferred long and flowy, figure hugging and mermaid styled gowns at the red carpet, the traditional saree was not completely discarded. As for hairdos, most chose to let their tresses flow while some of them opted for buns and knots. Exquisitely designed earrings were chosen over heavy neck-pieces in this fashion extravaganza that dazzled all!

Asin
Asin is dressed like she knew she was going to win an award and wanted to make her look a lasting memory. The deep violet is an unexpected colour and the centre seam gives way to a beautiful, flowing panel. She keeps the face and make-up simple and wins all awards in the ensemble section.

Genelia
The up side is that age is on Genelia's side and she will be able to learn from her mistakes. The down side is that digital photographs last a long, long time. The fish cut did nothing for Beyonce at the Oscars and it does nothing for Genelia here. Since there is nothing else going on in terms of accessories, detailing or colour, we keep coming back to the unflattering cut. At least it fits well, but then, it's a Roberto Cavalli.

Preity Zinta
You recognise the top half, don't you? Priyanka Chopra has two black-lace-over-peach ensembles like it. Abetting Preity's fashion crime is the fishcut, though it isn't as bad as Priyanka. Saved by the hem of your Gauri and Nainika outift, Preity.

Tabu
A flash of floating brown, and everyone was left craning their necks to get a good look at Tabu. Standing head and shoulders above everyone else, the smashing dress was just an accessory to her fluted shoulders. That's the way to do it.

Priyanka Chopra
The gown's detailing made the mark only to be brought down by the terrible fish-cut and black panels. The one-shoulder is very now; but Priyanka, anyone who isn't blind can tell those are coloured lenses. Tsk tsk. (more...)

Sreeram is a dad now

The day of February 28th was a double delight for actor Sreeran and his wife Vandhana as the couple has been blessed with a baby boy today.

The romantic flick ‘Roja Poolu’ introduced Sreeram to Tollywood. He got instantly recognized in the role of a romantic hero in his first flick itself. Now, the actor has went for a image make over as he appears in the role of a cop in the upcoming ‘Police Police’ sharing screen space with Prithvi Raj.

Speaking to the media, he said, “My joy knew no bounds when my wife Vandhana gave birth to a boy, that too on my birthday. Me and my son are born on the same day which is really a special occurrence. I respect my mother and my wife for their womanhood which is an esteemed role in life. I am fortunate enough to have been blessed by god with a healthy baby, be it a boy or girl is of least importance.”

The couple is extremely delighted over the new born and Sreeram is looking forward to spend more time with his child. (more...)

Tollywood actress Sridevi gives green signal for her marriage. Her parents Vijay kumar and Manjula, who are also actors, finally, choose her a Hyderabad based software business man. Unlike the Bollywood actresses who prefer to romance with two or three men of the industry before going for marriage, Tollywood actresses strictly confined themselves to their family values and opt for traditional marriage system.

Actress Sridevi (film Manjira fame) engagement ceremony with Rahul is fixed for 15th of this month, and most probably their marriage may take place in June this year. Rahul who runs a software industry at Hyderabad said to be attracted with her, when he saw her at a marriage function last year at Chennai, and sent proposals through his parents for their marriage. Ayesha weds her boyfriend Farhan Azmi on March 1st

'Super’ heroine Ayesha Takia entered into wedlock with a restaurant owner, Farhan Azmi, on Sunday, the 1st March, 2009, in Mumbai. Farhan Azmi, the son of Samajwadi Party leader, Abu Azmi, is her long time boyfriend. The wedding ceremony known as Nikaah in Islam was performed according to the Islamic tradition in the presence of the bride and groom’s family members and their close friends. Though the Ayesha had her Nikaah quietly, she has arranged a party for some Bollywood as well as Tollywood personalities. It is understood that Nag and Puri have sent their wishes to Ayesha.

Ayesha confirmed that she would continue in films even after marriage, but a firm ‘No’ for exposing. This bubbly actress made her debut through Nag-Puri’s ‘Super’ in Tollywood and created good craze among the younger lot. Star-Politics malign Tollywood!

Casting Couch. The term is very popular in glamour industry. Many believe or have notion that heroines indulge in sexual favours to get a role. Those who closely know the workings of film industry say that casting couch (sleeping for roles) exists but that doesn’t mean that everyone does it. In fact, such system is hardly exists now. Today film industry too has become very professional and educated guys are entering into film industry, so the dynamics have changed rapidly. Casting Couch today is a passé.

Yet, with stars entering into politics, they are washing their dirty linen in public and the verbal war between the star turned politicians, topics of casting couch have become public discussions. PRP leader calling former actress and current TD leader Roja a ‘sleaze heroine’ and hinting that she has had history of indulging in ‘obscene activities’ to get roles has maligned the industry as whole. Roja retorted to the accusations and thrown further mud on to Chiru and Pawan. With these allegations and counter allegations, the Telugu Film Industry as whole is getting maligned. Already Telugu girls from reputed families are shying away from entering into the glam world. Now any girl would dare to step now with these politician’s cheap verbal war and throwing bad light on ‘actresses’?

Just few days back, Babu Mohan dragged late Shoban Babu’s family into same mudslinging game. For political gains, these former actors are maligning the film profession and the industry. It is so cheap and obscene. Their attitude should be condemned by one and all. (more...)

Manchu Vishnu weds Veronica

Leading hero Manchu Vishuvardhan Babu married Ms. Veronica, daughter of Mr. YS Sudheekar Reddy (Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy's brother) at a high profile function held at GMC Balayogi stadium (Gachibowli stadium) in Hyderabad on Sunday morning between 10.30 and 11.30 am.

The priests chanted vedic hymns at the appointed hour in the mesha lagnam. The event saw the participation of almost all the big wigs of the Telugu film industry and noted personalities in politics and social segments.

The dignitaries included chief minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, TD president Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu, Ministers Jana Reddy, K Rosaiah, central minister Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde, Eenadu chairman Ramoji Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, K.
