No big stars for Sankranthi?
Generally big stars love to compete on Sankranthi but this time, Tollywood stars are shying away from it. Starting with Arya 2, several big movies are hitting the screens by this year end. NTR - Vinayak film is scheduled for Dec 18th release as NTR fears ‘January’ because he has delivered some of the big duds during Sankranthi - January period ( Naga, Naa Alludu, Andhrawala). On the other hand, Nagarjuna, who is sentimental about the month of December, is releasing his current film, Rummy, on December 25th.
Venkatesh is in favor of releasing Namo Venkatesha on February 18th as he delivered some big hits on that day like - Raja, Sankranthi, Mallishwari.
Although director Boyapati Sreenu is working hard to finish his film with Balakrishna, Simha, by Sankranthi, its release on the festival is not certain. Balakrishna has ‘Sankranthi sentiment’ but this time he may skip the festival.
So, no top billing star is coming up with a film for this Sankranthi. If some schedules go haywire and last minutes changes force them to release it on Pongal, the said release dates are almost certain.
Sekhar Kammula’s Leader would also be hitting by December end (chances are that it might release during Sankranthi time.) Vishnu and Ileana starrer Salim is the only film that is scheduled for Sankranthi. (more...)

Maghadeera adds, Niranjan removes?
Ram Charan’s latest hit film Magadheera has been exhibiting with some scenes added to the original prints. In fact, those additional scenes are supposed to be included in the original prints but, Allu Aravind who is a big money spinner, planned to add the scenes to boost his revenues in a later period, which exactly works the way he planned. The repeated audiances for his film makes it a super hit film.
Quite opposite to this, film Ek Niranjan director Puri Jagannath removes some scenes of his film. After receiving a setback for the comedy track played by Brahmanandam, Ali and Abhinayasri, he is obliged to remove it from his film to avoid further damage. Film critics severely criticised him for making such a worse comedy in his film.
An innovative and successful director like Puri Jagannath was never expected to make such mistakes. But, his over confidence might have made him overlook the awkward scenes by the comedians, for which he is regretting now. (more...)
