Happy Birthday Naga Chaitanya

For 23-year old Naga Chaitanya who debuted with Josh, he has a tough legacy to live up to. This year marked the entry of the star-son and it happened in style. Unlike many actors of his age, Nag debuted with a non-love story that yet runs in a college campus. Shiva? You could relate. Though the film did not fare as well was expected at the box office, it showed how Nag was determined to experiment and not take the beaten path.

His second move was closely watched by the fans of Akkineni clan. We do not know if Gautham Menon selected him after watching Josh, but the director has made a comment saying Nag has a great future and that he is bound to become a big star. As he the son of a star who captivated his female fans for nearly two decades, expectations on the relatively inexperienced actor were high.

'We have to wait and see if in his second outing, Nag will mature. As he is under the wings of the talented Mr. Menon, we can see him maturing on the screen.

As he celebrates his birthday today, his fans and well-wishers hope that he will do more and more kindling films in future. Let's see if he shows the same kind of dexterity as his father in electing likeable subjects. (more...)

‘Arya 2′ gets U/A certificate

Allu Arjun’s next film Arya 2 release date has been confirmed and all set for release on November 27th worldwide.This most anticipated film got censored on Monday and Censor Board cleared the film. It awarded the movie U/A certificate. Arya 2 is a feel good love story. Kajal Agarwal is paired opposite Arjun and film is being produced under Aditya Arts banner. Music is by Devi Sri Prasad. Ram Charan on People’s Magazine cover

Ram Charan Tej, who is on the cover of People’s magazine December issue, launched the magazine today (Monday, November 23, 2009) at the Landmark bookstore in Hyderabad. He said it feels good to be on the cover of prestigious magazine. He is the first Telugu actor to grace on the magazine. Later Charan interacted with the media and talked about his interview with People.

Ram Charan refused to talk about his next film Orange much. “When there is suspense, you would enjoy it more. I am starting the film very shortly and it would be good romantic entertainer and you’d see me in new avatar. This is all I can share with you about Orange,” he said. (more...)

Music of Rana’s Leader released!

Audio of the much-awaited film Leader, starring Daggubati Rana (grandson of D Ramanaidu) was released at Hotel Marriot, Hyderabad. Made on AVM Productions banner, the flick is directed by Sekhar Kammula, after a gap of two years.

Film dignitaries who graced the occasion included Chiranjeevi, MS Guhan, MS Reddy, Murali Mohan, D. Ramanaidu, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Sumanth, Lagadapati Sridhar, Allu Arjun, Allu Arvind, Krishnamraju, Suresh Babu, Tannikella Bharani, A. Kodandarami Reddy, Ashwini Dutt, Manchu Vishnu, Richa, Meher Ramesh, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Ahuti Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Krish, Mickey J. Mayer, Ravi Prakash and others.

Aditya Music is marketing the audio of Leader with its music scored by Mickey J. Mayer. AVM proprietor M. Saravanan unveiled the audio CD and presented the first numbers to Ramanaidu and Chiranjeevi. The audio cassette was released by Chiranjeevi who presented it to Ramanaidu.

Director Sekhar Kammula said: “All my films are small-budget films. As such, my association with a prestigious banner like AVM Productions thrills me a lot and that I am lucky. Everybody might think that Ramanaidu and Suresh Babu (grandfather and father of hero Rana) had called me and entrusted me the job of directing their product Rana. But, it was me who caught hold of the hero for my script. In fact, I thank them for accepting to give Rana for my film.”

Sekhar Kammula felt moved when he said: “When the film Anand is like my daughter, Happy Days is like my son. This film Leader is like my mother. After Happy Days, I was silent for several months. I watched the TV a lot and during that time elections came. I thought of a different subject – how should a leader be? You will not going to have any bloodshed in this film, but the hero could touch your hearts. We produced this music after listening to several patriotic songs. Hero of this function is Veturi Sundara Ramamurthy. Rana holds perfect height and he never missed coming to the sets on time. I have no doubts to say that Leader is going to rock.”

Rana said: “I extend my sincere thanks to all those who have come here to bless me. I thank Marthand K. Venktesh for bringing this project to me. Our family is dedicated to the film industry for the last five decades starting with my grandfather Ramanaidu to Suresh Babu to Venkatesh. When people ask me where I was born, I am proud to say that I took my birth in the lap of film industry. I earnestly seek your blessings.”

Chiranjeevi said: “ It is like my family function. Rana is very lucky as he doing his very first film in a roaring banner like the AVM Productions. Apart from this, he is coming under the direction of highly successful director Sekhar Kammula. Going by the words of Sekhar Kammula, the film is most likely to have a socially-responsible subject dealing with the qualities of a Leader. I wish all the best to the team.” (more...)

Watch TV and Make films: Shekar Kammula

Director Shekar Kammula said that he got the inspiration for his latest movie’ Leader’ from our political parties. He said, “ After completing film ‘Happy days’ I was idle for more than six months. During that period, I just sat in my house doing nothing except watching TV Channels all the day. I have watched all the gimmicks played by our political parties and their strategies for winning the elections, which provoked thoughts in me that gave a concept for my film ‘ Leader ’ Although, this is a political based film, there would be no blood strained scenes and no violence in this film. I have rediscovered myself as a good citizen of the country, and a new director in me after working on this concept.”

“I am happy for the offer by AVM Productions. It is just like a life time achievement for me to work under such a great banner. AVM gave me a free hand in making this film. That’s why I made it on a big budget that matches the image of this reputed production house AVM.” (more...)
