The shoot of Allu Arjun-Gunasekhar venture – Varudu – being made on the Universal Media banner with DVV Danayya producing it, is complete but for a song.
Speaking to the media, director Gunasekhar said: “But for one song, the entire shoot is done. We are going to complete canning the song in the first week of March. The film is coming up so well. The Characterization of hero Allu Arvind is chiselled in a different mould and would remain the best ever in his career. The Tamil hero Arya played the villain in this film. Highlight is that about one hundred families took part in the shooting. Veturi penned all the lyrics with commitment, well matched to the theme and mood of the film. Coming to the technical side, it is going to be a visual splendor to the audience.”
Producer Danayya said: “We are happy to be doing this film with Allu Arjun, after his blockbuster Desamuduru. The audience can expect all kinds of commercial elements from the venture. Currently, we are also doing the re-recording. Plans are underway to release the film on March 26th.”
The cast included Suhasini, Naresh, Asish Vidyarthi, Sayaji Shinde, Singitam Srinivasarao, Ahuti Prasad, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji and others. Mani Sharma scored the music. Cinematography is by RD Rajasekhar. (more...)

'Simha' to shoot for three songs
Balakrishna-starrer Simha will be filming for three songs from the end of this month. With this, the film currently in various post-production stages, will be completed. The film is produced by Parachuri Kiriti. One song will be filmed on a specially-erected set, while the other two will be shot in abroad.
The director has said that Balakrishna will be seen in an interesting role in the film. His diction, accent and acting style are all going to be new. As the film's working title Simha has got huge response from the audience and fans of the star, the producers have decided to go ahead with it. The makers say that Balayya will be seen in a new avatar in the film. The actor is coming in a never-seen-before performance.
Nayanatara is paired opposite Balakrishna. Sneha Ullal and Namitha are the other heroines. Stun Shiva, Ram-Lakshman's action will be one of the high points of the film, says Boyapati. Songs are choreographed by Prem Rakshit.
Chakri is composing the music. It is expected that the film will be a huge hit in the career of Balayya. The producer, Mr. Kiriti said, "This one is a costly film in our banner. I think this film will be a sensational hit in Balakrishna's career. We found a wonderful subject."

Shriya lectures IIM students
Shriya may have so far boasted of laurels and appreciation heaped upon her by her co-stars, but now she can claim to be the first actress in South India, or probably, India, to be invited as a guest lecturer at the premium Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. The reputable institute of higher learning invited Shriya, the actress of Shivaji - The Boss and such popular Tamil and Telugu movies, on the 12th of February.
She lectured on the topic marketing and branding of a film. She has been associated to big budget movies like Shivaji, which was aggressively marketed. It is said that Shriya did not go about downloading a lecture prepared by someone, but did research on the topic by herself for, well, five days.
Contemporary Film Industry - A Business Perspective was the programme under which the lecture was given. Incidentally, she used the opportunity to speak high of the business of films conducted in the two most popular and rich film industries in the South - Tollywood and Kollywood.
Not just in the way she lectured, but even the way she took the questions from the students after the session, were appreciated. Now that Shriya is called 'beauty with brains,' her fans can now expect her to do roles befitting her real life persona. Is Shriya listening? (more...)
Bhumika as Air Hostess in film Yagam
Action packed thriller film ‘Yagam’ is ready for release. Navadeep , Bhumika and Kim Sharma are playing lead roles in this film. “The characterisation of the three lead roles is highlight of the film. Hero Navadeep, who works as a waiter in a Bar strongly believes that he is still alive to accomplish a mission- Yagam His girl friend Kim Sharma who also works along with him in the same bar as waiter, thinks that he loves her. Bhumika who works as an Air Hostess is also somehow connected to hero Navadeep Although, the story revolves around these three characters, it is not a triangle love story,’ explains director of the film PA.
